How To Verify Your Government ID
before you can confirm a booking you will need to verify a valid government issues ID (passport, driver's license, or ID Card). To be accepted your form of government cannot be expired, damaged, etc., and will be verified in real-time. You will also be required to take a live "selfy" to ensure you match the form of ID that is being verified.
You will be able to verify your ID from your dashboard before a booking is confirmed, or you can verify your ID during the booking process. If you DO NOT have a valid government issues ID you WILL NOT be able to book a property via the HouseStay system.
We recommend you verify your ID with your mobile phone as phone cameras tend to be higher resolution than computer cameras, as users who try and verify their IDs via their computer tend to receive more errors due to blurry/grainy photos vs. using their mobile phone.
NOTE: When creating an account be sure to verify the ID of the person using the account, as once an ID is verified the name on the account will be updated to the name on the ID and cannot be changed. Once an ID has been successfully verified, you will not be able to change the name on the account (as the name on the ID will be used to populate the leases)
